Our origins

Noir sur Blanc was founded by Brigitte Fournier in 1990. The company was created around an innovative concept: specialising in communication for higher education and the academic world. The company was a pioneer as the first European communication consultants focusing on this sector.
Very soon we became aware of the issues and close relationships that link higher education with the business world on the one hand and with public administration on the other. We extended our activities to include clients in both these areas. At the same time, realising the significance of the new technologies, we launched our first website in 1995 and quickly started to make the most of the opportunities offered by new media.
With the increasing effects of globalisation, we have become more international, enabling us to continue to extend our business beyond higher education. Nevertheless, it is in the academic world that our expertise is most renowned, as witnessed by our membership of international associations such as EFMD and EAIE.
By working in the business and institutional sectors and by having clients in many countries, we have become an integral part of ever-expanding networks, including journalists, human resource management, politicians, decision-makers and opinion-leaders. Our networks are today a critical element in the added value of our work.
Over the years, at Noir sur Blanc we have constantly added to our range of services to be able to offer complete and effective solutions adapted to the needs of our clients.

Why are we called Noir sur Blanc?
We are based in Paris and Noir sur Blanc in French is the equivalent of “in black and white” in English conveying clarity and explicitness in communication. Our name is also a statement of how we work, highlighting the open relationships we have with our clients and our own corporate governance.
